A DEFENCE OF THE DISTRICT LINE
Dear Editor,
I must admit that the Secretary's comments re the District Line in the last edition have surprised me. As a regular commuter I have always found it quick and efficient.
Certainly I would prefer to travel on the District Line in preference to the Northern Line and indeed most other lines on the Underground system. It is cleaner, has less failures and is more comfortable.
More to the point, I have found that only a 10 minute adjustment in travel times means no overcrowding and a seat in each direction! Not bad for the rush hour!
