From the Editor
I'm sorry that my editorial didn't appear in the previous edition. It had to compete for the only vacant space with a very important article, which won. So this is my second attempt at putting together the newsletter. Without Ceri Sheeran it would never have appeared, as he's taken on the time-consuming task of producing the material for our printers. This involved some 60 hours of slog at a keyboard. This is his first experience of Desk Top Publishing and using a scanner. I think that you will agree that this is a splendid debut. Thank you Ceri. At one point, it looked as though our redoubtable former editor, Phoebe Philips, would be making a temporary return to help us out. Obviously W.P.R.A is not a case of "out of sight, out of mind" and we are grateful for Phoebe's continued interest.
As always, we are indebted to our advertisers for their support, without which there could be no newsletter. It's good to see that several local residents are using our pages to air their views, so please keep your comments coming.
One of the constant preoccupations of the committee is communication between us and the residents. Can you suggest ways in which we can improve? We are looking for small but conspicuous sites in Arthur Road and Durnsford Road where we can advertise forthcoming events or keep you up to date with developments. Have you any ideas for these? At the moment, we rely on local shopkeepers who kindly put up our posters in their windows but a designated W.P.R.A. area could be more effective.
Our next edition is scheduled for Easter, so please feel free to send in articles, letters or comments for this.
With Good Wishes and Compliments of the Season
E.M. Baker
