Dissemination of News
a) Newsletter, published three times a year.
b) Notices in our notice boards.  One of these was lost through vandalism.  It is difficult to find suitable sites.
c) Leaflet drops.  These are expensive, labour intensive and give poor results.
d) We have an e-mail address, which is given in the Newsletter.
e) A web site has been set up, but lack of resources has delayed its development.  It is hoped to remedy this in the coming year.  The address is in the Newsletter.

Membership
There are approximately two thousand households in our area, of which approximately half are paid up members.  This is the minimum number needed to break even.

Social and Community Events
The Wandle clean up this year will take place on Sunday, October 22nd.

Christmas Lights
The Association contributes the wreaths, which form part of the street decorations.  The Cresidents provide all the rest, including the Christmas Tree, and organise the Carol Singing.

Quiz Night
Organised by Paresh and Kish Modasia with a gallant band of helpers, it was a great success.

Millennium Weekend
This was funded by a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The theme was "Wimbledon Park, Past, Present and Future".
A lecture was given by local historian, Richard Millward.
An exhibition included items from Wimbledon Museum illustrating the past, paintings and drawings by artist Stephen Chaplin illustrating the present, and children's work from Wimbledon Park Primary School illustrating the future.
There was also a Bat-Watch in Wimbledon Park, which has been designated a Historic Park with its links back to Capability Brown.

Conclusion
I shall be standing down at this meeting both as Chairman and a Committee Member.  Also standing down from the Committee are Ann Tilt and Kiki Allerman, who are leaving due to the pressure of other commitments.
I thank all Committee Members, particularly Kiki Allerman, who has dealt with "green issues".  She, accompanied by Jill Farmer, organised the Front Garden Competition, supported by a faithful panel of judges.  She has been the main driving force behind improvements in Durnsford Recreation Ground.  We owe her a debt of gratitude.
Ken Ball is due special thanks for the hard work he and his team put into the Millennium Weekend.
Liz Baker is remaining on the Committee, but relinquishes her job as Editor of the Newsletter.  Many thanks are due for this hard and time-consuming work.  There is no replacement as yet, which throws an extra burden on Ceri Sheeran, Co-Editor, who puts in many hours of work on the Newsletter, which we all appreciate.
Many thanks also to the many helpers who are not on the Committee, including: -
The Newsletter/leaflet distributors.
Subscription collectors (especially the Georges, Farmer and Gomez).
Our advertisers who support the Newsletter.
Father Naughton, who is forgiving when our meetings overrun.

TREASURER'S REPORT
Helen Atkin reported that there was at the end of the Association's year, a healthy balance of £3,688, partly achieved by lower printing costs for the Newsletter.
Monies are retained for Alleyways, Kenilworth Gardens and the Millennium.  The accounts have been examined by an accountancy firm for the first time since 1991.
