From Our Chairman
Our Editor
The Association has prided itself in producing a high quality newsletter and, I think you will agree, one which is readily discernible from the reams of unsolicited junk mail that floods through our letterboxes. The backbone of the newsletter for the last few years has been a great team of our editor, Liz Baker, and Ceri Sheeran who put it all together and give it shape before it goes to the printer. Liz has established not only excellent relations with all our advertisers and managed that aspect with the able assistance of our Treasurer, but has also set a standard of style and content which has regularly drawn compliments from our readers. I mention this at the outset as, sadly, we are soon to lose the services and excellent company of Liz back to her roots in Wales where her parents and other family are calling from the valleys.
Liz has lived in Wimbledon Park for many years and, as many of you will know, was a very successful headmistress of Wimbledon High School before she retired. Those of you who have come into contact with her personally will know what a delightful, energetic and capable person she is. Although the timing of her move is slightly uncertain it seems likely that this edition will be last under her stewardship. Therefore this is a very opportune moment to give her a special mention for the unstinting service she has provided, the camaraderie and not least the regular flow of resident's letters she has stimulated throughout the years. So, thank you very much Liz from all of your friends on the committee and the membership at large. We can only promise to try and maintain the same standards.
