Are you 6 to 15 years of age?  Are you missing out on the fun, excitement and challenge of Scouting in the Millennium?  Activities over the past year at your local Scout Group in Arthur Road have included:

BEAVER SCOUTS 6-8 YEARS OLD

Games, crafts, visitors and fun activities.  This term the Beavers are on a Millennium Chase 'visiting' different parts of the country.

Outings have included visiting the local fire station, pantomime, Fun Day at a local Scout campsite and building dens in the woods and a treasure hunt at Painshill Park.

CUBS 8 - 10½ YEARS OLD

The Cubs recently gained athletics badges at a special event held in the stadium in Wimbledon Park. 

They have also taken part in District competitions such the swimming gala and quiz night (Brain of Wimbledon).  The District outing to Portsmouth to tour the harbour and visit Nelson's ship Victory was very popular, as was a visit to London.

SCOUTS 10½ - 15½ YEARS OLD

The Scout troop are very active and have enjoyed canoeing, rafting, abseiling, climbing, orienteering, parascending and archery. They won the District overall Scout trophy in 1999 after the following outstanding results:

Football - 1st, Camping - 1st, Swimming - 1st, Table Tennis - 1st,
Trek Cart Racing - 1st, Orienteering - 2nd.

Camping plays a big part in Scouting.  The troop will be at the Millennium camp in May, a District competition in June and Sky High 2000 in July.  Summer camp will be at Camp Downe 2000 International Camp, followed by Buckmore Park in October.

Hot air ballooning, canoeing, sailing and pioneering will be among the activities on offer to the Cubs and Scouts at a District camp being held in Wimbledon Park to celebrate the Millennium at the end of May.
