From the Editors

The newsletter goes to every house in Wimbledon Park, regardless of whether the occupant is a paid up member, a lapsed one or a refusnik ( the last a very small group ).

Its purpose is twofold: to report on the committee's activities and to register residents' views. You are welcome to contact committee members or to write to the newsletter. If you wish, you can withhold your name and address from publication. Items should be sent to the editors or can be e-mailed to the association through our web site, at mail@wimbledonpark.com. Every Committee member can also be e-mailed individually using their name, at  name.name@wimbledonpark.com.

Given the double whammy of the library's recent closure and the Bank's definite disappearance, I suppose most letters would be signed " disgusted, Wimbledon Park". But as our Chairman reveals, the Committee plans to step up our social programme to maintain community contacts. Please keep looking at the notice boards for forthcoming events and please support.

You will see that as well as our hard-core of regular advertisers, we have some new ones. It is good that business continues to believe in Wimbledon Park.

Our Councillor and Mayor, Joyce Paton, was unable to provide an article for this newsletter, due to ill health. She wishes to pass on her regards to the Ward. We hope to publish an article from her in our next issue describing her year as Mayor.

Finally as milder spring and summer evenings arrive, you will (eventually) be visited by committee members regarding your membership. Advance information on streets to be canvassed will be on our notice-boards, to give you time to prepare.
