ume of traffic in the area.  The narrow pavements of the Railway Bridge on Durnsford Road and the congestion that we face daily on Havana Road need to be addressed. I have written to the LEA on these issues and I have discussed the problems with our local home beat policeman - Mark Roberts. With the numbers increasing at the school something must be done to ease the pressure of traffic, before there is a major accident.

Easter will soon be here. Reverend Vibert - the vicar at St Luke's -  will be coming to the school on Monday 2nd April at 10.15am to tell the Easter story in assembly. Our theme for assemblies this term is 'New Life'. We have watched the wonderful spectacle of 'eggs hatching' on video this year. Unfortunately Deen City Farm has had to close to the public. It is  a preventative measure due to the 'foot and mouth' scare. Normally they bring us fertilised eggs and the children are able to observe the 'hatching' process as it happens.

Our 5-day trip to Avon Tyrrell for Year 3 pupils will continue in May. We have been taking our children each year for over 20 years. Many of our younger readers who are ex-WPPS pupils will relive fond memories as they read this.

We are always looking for different ways of enriching the curriculum that we offer our children at WPPS. We regularly take the children out on trips - this year we have visited the Dome, the National Gallery, Hampton Court, the British Museum, the Wandsworth Museum, a local supermarket etc. We also invite people with special talents and skills to come into school to inspire the children - drama groups, poets, artists, dancers, story tellers, musicians, a pond doctor etc. If any of our local residents has a talent or a skill that he/she would be prepared to share with the children please contact us, you will be welcomed with open arms!.

I hope we will see many of our local residents at our Summer Fair this year. It will be held on Saturday 7th July. Warmest wishes to you all from everyone at WPPS!
