Councillor Joyce Paton writes
First of all, traffic calming - I'm pleased to say that my committee and the officers were very impressed with the work that had been done before the petitions were presented, so congratulations to the organisers. I just need to say again please remember that it is very important that you reply to the official consultation with your views, whatever they are.
In spite of not having any summer, it's the Summer Fair time of year. It was good to see such a lot of people at the Wimbledon Park First School fair. The dray horses from Young's brewery helped to make it very popular, in spite of the rain, and seeing everybody there was wonderful. I'm sure by the time this newsletter reaches you the Woodman fair will have been a great success too.
Residents have been working very hard on their front gardens and I have seen some really impressive ones this year. Well done everybody. I wish we could give you all a prize. A special mention for the organisers, Patricia Gomez and Jill Farmer and the Green sub-committee members. It's great to have people who put such a lot into our community.
Finally have a great summer whatever the weather!
