Burglary & Motor Vehicle Crime

The levels of burglaries & M/V crime have reduced significantly over the last four months with only one residential burglary in the last three months. Motor vehicle crime hit a peak in May with 17 offences recorded. A motor vehicle crime reduction initiative took place as a result of this leading to the present level of 5 a month. However this is 5 too many, over the last two months the majority of these offences have occurred during daylight hours. If you see anyone acting suspiciously then call the police. To minimise your risk of becoming a victim, ensure that all valuables are removed from your car when you leave it,

Durnsford Ward Community Safety Panel

If you are interested in becoming involved in local crime & disorder issues affecting your community please contact me. The next meeting is on 18th October.

The panel has been active in looking at solutions to local problems, one of which is abandoned vehicles & fly tipping. The panel has come up with a poster & working with the council, these will be on display at street corners. If you see anyone abandoning vehicles or fly-tipping please take details of the vehicles involved & contact the abandoned vehicles section at Merton Council on Tel: 8545-3133, they are keen to prosecute those involved.

- keeping you informed & involved in local policing issues.

This is a computerised messaging service provided FREE by your local Police. The message will normally be of an urgent nature; for instance details of a burglary in your area including the description of those believed to be involved if available. To register please contact me on 8649-3144 or 07659-136199.  I will bring plenty of copies to the WPRA  AGM.
