You usually remind readers to support local shops. I would like to do this but can't do so as much as I would wish. I leave for work at 07:30, when everything is shut and return between 7 and 7:30 when many have closed for the day.

I know how hard everyone works in our shops, but couldn't they be persuaded to have one late-night opening a week. If this isn't possible through the year, perhaps it could be arranged for the run-up to Christmas. I am sure that there would be an increase in trade.

The newsletter never ceases to remind us of the variety and high standards available locally. I agree, but, as things are at present, I can't have as much access as I would wish, except at weekends.
