The redevelopment project for Wimbledon Park Hall has entered an exciting new phase with the submission of a planning application by the developers.  On this page we have included a selection of images and sketches of the proposed development, provided by the Architect.  More detailed plans will be available at the Home Office, estate agents, and at the meetings.

When we started out with our discussions with the Council in 2003 we did not envisage that getting to this stage would involve such a long and tortuous journey!  To a large degree it has been due to the way in which the Council is obliged to proceed in order to satisfy the notion of ‘best value’.

Over the past three years the WPRA has had many meetings with the developers and the Council and we have kept the community informed of progress through the Newsletter and public meetings.  These Hall ‘updates’ appear on this section of the website starting with Christmas 2003.  I commend you to that particular extract for an understanding of the background and rationale.  For your information I have also included some results of the research carried out at that time and which formed part of our Business Plan submitted to the Council in late 2003.

I look forward to seeing you at the one or both the public meetings being held on September 27th and 25th October.

Iain Simpson
Chairman
