Chairman's Report
Much has happened with the Save Wimbledon Park Campaign since my last report. The application for a Judicial Review (JR) of the GLA's decision to approve the AELTC planning application was completed within the six-week time frame required and very quickly after that permission to proceed was received from the court on the basis submitted. At the same time, permission was received to limit SWP’s exposure to adverse costs to no more than £10,000.
Fundraising to cover legal costs leading up to the application for JR started through the establishment of a Crowd Justice private page in December 2024 and SWP was fortunate that a great many people gave generously and the amount required to cover the initial legal costs for making the application to the court was raised.
